*F1(N) is the force produced by the gas cylinder when it is in its initial, compressed position. It is essentially the force the gas lift applies to help raise the chair. F1 = 350 N means the gas spring produces approximately 350 Newtons of upward force under the manufacturer's test conditions. F1 is not the same as the chair's maximum user weight.
