Information
- Most chair legs are made of hard-grain timber. To prevent splitting, drill a slightly undersized pilot hole—no larger than the 2.5 mm shank diameter—at the center of each leg. The hole should be about 15 mm deep, allowing the nail tip to embed slightly into the wood for better grip. This will help secure the glide and prevent it from falling out when the chair is moved.
